Yharnam is the city where the events of Bloodborne take place. It is an imposing and sprawling city filled with gothic architecture whose inhabitants have fallen victim to a strange endemic illness.
Description
Yharnam is a city whose Victorian architecture seems to be reminiscent of European cities from the late 19th Century such as London, Paris, Edinburgh or Cologne. The city features a rather grim and decadent outlook, since it has been ravaged by a mysterious plague and it has become infested with dangerous beasts and demented citizens.
During the outbreak, the inhabitants of Yharnam can be seen forming large street mobs and pursuing those who have been infected by the plague, the beasts that terrorize the city and trespassers who have dared to set foot in the dark streets of Yharnam. Those who are unfortunate enough to be caught by the mobs of crazed citizens meet a gruesome end (for example, in one of the screenshots the citizens can be seen burning a werewolf alive in a pyre).
Plot
Yharnam is an ancient city known for an old medical remedy. Over the years, many desperate travelers have ventured into this city in search for a cure for the plague, but none of them have returned. The protagonist of Bloodborne ventures into the perilous streets of Yharnam hoping to find answers about the origin of the plague.
