Bloodborne Wiki

Time for chapter 11. This one is pretty interesting. This chapter is called "The Betrayal", and is the penultimate chapter of The Betrayal: Act I. I think this one is pretty neat, and has another decent plot twist at the end. It's also not nearly as long as the previous two chapters. I hope you like it.

The Betrayal[]

After killing Mark, I ran non-stop all the way from his home to Jason’s house. I got several odd looks from other people as I was passing by them, but I didn’t care. Djura was going to be out of town for the day, but I knew that he was going to find his son’s body eventually.

When I had made it to Jason’s house, I was panting as I knocked on the door violently. Not long afterwards, Cynthia opened the door.

“Hey, Nathan”, she said. “Are you okay?” she asked.

“I’m fine”, I told her. “Is Jason home?”

“He is”, she answered.

“I need to talk to him”, I said.

“Come on in”, she said.

I went inside, and Jason was sitting in his living room, reading a book. When he noticed me, he closed the book, put it down, and stood up. “What are you doing here, Sakharine?” he asked.

“I need to talk to you”, I said.

“Okay”, he said, before all of us sat down in his living room. “What’s this about?” Jason asked.

I sighed. “I killed Mark.” I said.

“You did what?!” Cynthia asked.

“Mark owed me money, and when I went to collect it, he told me that he didn’t have it, and he attacked me”, I said. “I tried to calm the situation down, but it didn’t work. He tried to stab me, so I killed him.”

“This is some serious shit, homie”, Jason said.

“I know”, I responded. “What should I do?”

“Djura is not going to be happy”, Jason said.

“I know”, I said. “And he knows where my hideout is somehow.”

“That’s not good”, Cynthia said.

“I know he’s out of town today”, I said. “I should use that fact to my advantage.”

“I think I know what you could do”, Cynthia said.

“What do you have in mind, Cynthia?” I asked.

“You could change into an outfit Djura has never seen you in, and not wear your mask”, she said. “That way, he’s highly unlikely to recognize you.”

“Cynthia, you’re a genius”, I said. “I’ll do that.”

“I try my best”, she said.

I stood up. “I’m going to go now”, I said.

“Wait”, Cynthia said.

“What is it?” I asked her.

“Be careful”, she said before leaning up to give me a kiss on the chin of my mask.

“Thank you”, I said as I smiled underneath the mask. “I’ll remember that.”

“Lovebirds”, I heard Jason whisper to himself as he started reading his book again. I decided not to draw attention to that.

“I’m going to go now”, I said before walking out the door. When I was about 12 feet away from the house, I heard Cynthia follow me out.

“Nathan”, she said as she caught up to me. “There’s something I want to tell you.”

“What is it?” I asked.

“I don’t know how to say this”, she said. “But I had a bit of a thing for you.”

“What do you mean?” I asked in a confused tone.

“I don’t know”, she said. “I’ve always had a bit of a thing for masked men. I don’t know the best way to explain it.”

“I think I understand”, I responded.

“Do you think I’m pretty, Nathan?” she asked. “I noticed how you kept glancing at me when we were in the dungeon.”

I took a deep breath. “Yes”, I said. “I do.”

She smiled at me. “Thank you”, she said. “I’ll let you go now.”

I left Jason’s house, and began heading back to my hideout. When I was about halfway through the city, I began to hear footsteps close behind me. I turned around to see Djura standing behind me.

“Hello, Sakharine”, he said.

“Djura”, I said. “I thought you said you were going to be out of town today.”

“I was”, he responded. “I had a change of plans. I came home today instead of tomorrow.” He took a deep breath. “There’s something I need your help with.”

“I’ll help you out”, I said. I wasn’t sure if he knew that I had killed his son yet, or if he was hiding it really well.

We went to a district in Yharnam that was really high up, and appeared to have been abandoned for a while. We eventually found ourselves in a tower that appeared to be nothing more than a giant hole, with what appeared to be a scaffolding inside of it.

“This is a mighty long drop”, I said.

“It sure is”, Djura responded. After he said that, he kicked me into the hole, causing me to fall through several wooden panels that prevented me from dying on impact with the ground at the bottom of the hole. I survived the fall, but not without taking serious injuries, including several broken bones. Djura climbed down to where I was, and was surprised that I had survived. “You’re hard to kill aren’t you?” he asked.

“Djura...” I said weakly. “I can explain...”

“You betrayed me”, he said. “You killed the only person that I have left in this world! Why?!”

I tried to say something, but Djura took out his stake driver, and hit me in the face repeatedly with one of the blunt parts of it. He eventually stopped hitting me, put his weapon away, leaned down, took off my mask, and threw it to the side. “Look at you”, he said. “I can definitely see why you wear that mask now.” I tried to speak but he took out a pistol, and shot me in the stomach. “You won’t last long down here.” He then left me to bleed out.

I reached into my satchel, and took out a blood vial that I had snatched when I went to get my leg healed. I injected it into my right thigh, and I felt all of the pain go away. I was healed. I stood up, and went to where Djura had thrown my mask. It was badly damaged. A large part of the area around the right eye was gone, as well as a small part around the left side of the chin and neck was gone. I put it on my now-damaged mask, and it felt odd. I was so used to having my face be completely hidden, but now, almost half of my face was visible. After putting it on, I climbed out the same way that Djura had. I was going to finish this once and for all.
