Bloodborne Wiki

This is my weapon idea, layed out basically like a standard weapon page.

The Beast Blades are a trick weapon in Bloodborne.

The Beast Blades are brutal twin blades strapped to the hunter's arms, with two extra blades strapped to the back. They are thick and extend about a foot past the hunter's hands. Their serrated edge gives bonus damage to beast enemies, but they do not permit firearm use. To transform the Beast Blades, the hunter swings his arms back and snaps the extra blades into place on his arms. The transformed beast blades protrude further backwards off the elbow than forward off the hands: thus, turning around to attack grants better range.

Untransformed Beast Blades excel in quick, short-ranged slashes and jabs, similar to the Blade of Mercy (though the strikes come out slower and deal much more damage). The transformed version trades speed for a moderate range boost and significantly higher damage.

Untransformed Moveset:
L2 - 1: right-handed thrust*
L2 - 2: stepping horizontal cross slash
L2 - 3: jump strike
L1:      attaches extra blades and slashes while spinning
R1 - 1: quick right-hand jab
R1 - 2: left-hand uppercut*
R1 - 3: stepping two-handed right-to-left horizontal sweep
R1 - 4: stepping two-handed left-to-right downward diagonal slash
R2:      stepping two-handed thrust*

Transformed Moveset:
L2 - 1: right-handed left-to-right upward diagonal sweep
L2 - 2: two-handed spinning left-to-right horizontal sweep
L2 - 3: two-handed spinning left-to-right downward diagonal slash
L1:      places extra blades on back and two-handed thrust*
R1 - 1: turn around right-handed backward thrust*
R1 - 2: left-handed backstep backward thrust*
R1 - 3: stepping two-handed spinning right-to-left downward diagonal slash
R1 - 4: stepping two-handed uppercut*
R2:      turn around backstep two-handed thrust*
*Deals thrust damage

While using the R2 attack with the transformed Beast Blades, facing an enemy guarantees the attack will miss, as the thrust strikes behind the hunter. To use this attack, the hunter must face directly away from the target. A fully charged R2 thrust drains stamina completely, as the attack can charge longer based on the hunter's stamina. Therefore, the more stamina the hunter has, the more damage he can deal with a single R2 attack. This move has high ending lag and leaves the hunter drained if used fully charged, so landing the hit is absolutely critical.

Using fire/bolt paper: crosses arms over chest, then straightens them downward

The overall damage output of the Beast Blades is very high. However, the weapon's limited reach prevents it from being overpowered. Untransformed, it has about the reach of the Blade of Mercy, and transformed, roughly that of the untransformed Saw Cleaver. It fits very well into a give-no-quarter playstyle. A build focused on strength, skill, and stamina could make heavy use of the transformed R2 attack to make a case for the highest damage output in the game.
