Spectres are an online mechanic in Bloodborne.
Description[]
If a player dies while online, a small pool of blood will appear in the spot they were killed, visible across worlds to other players. The hosts of these worlds can approach these blood pools and Messengers will raise small, engraved tombstones that upon interaction will reveal a red, translucent version of the deceased player, briefly replaying the actions that led to their death.
Game Mechanics[]
The purpose of Spectres is to show players the last moments of another player. The player can then learn from the spectre’s mistakes and hopefully not die in the same way.
Notes[]
- The Spectre will show the last 10 seconds of the person who died.
Trivia[]
- Some players intentionally kill themselves with either the Chikage, Logarius' Wheel, or Bloodletter to scare others into thinking there's a threat nearby.
- A very popular spot for commiting suicide is in the Hunter's Dream or the Abandoned Old Workshop. Curiously enough, it is usually done in front of The Doll.
