Clement is a low-ranking priest of the Healing Church. When Ashen Blood struck Old Yharnam and his fellow Hunter Elio, was killed by the beast, his faith was shaken and he blamed the Old Blood for the loss of his friend's life. He started to team up with Doctor Alfredius to investigate the source of the disease. They started to exchange information and samples and eventually become one another's good friend. Later on, Clement discovered several church priests throwing some powder into Old Yharnam water supply. He secretly followed them and retrieved some of it for Alfredius to examine. The powder was in fact, the source of the disease. This discovery completely destroyed Clement's trust in the church and he started to disgust it. Clement, however, still stayed in the priest rank in order to supply Alfredius with Old Blood to treat Mathilde of her Ashen Blood. After constant treatment, her condition got better, and Alfredius wanted more Old blood to fully heal her. But, during that time, the Blood Moon descended upon the city, and the plague was at its worst, so Clement couldn't supply Mathilde and Alfredius with blood so he left a note on his friend's door. Unknown to Clement, the note didn't reach Alfredius and in desperation, he betrayed the priest. Several days later, priest Clement stole several Blood Vials from the Church's storage and headed to a surprised Alfredius. Although two embraced, the doctor started to apologize and the Church's hunters took Clement away. Clement was deemed guilty by Galhad, and was about to be bisected. But just before his execution, he told other priests that he hoped they die screaming. |
