Formless Oedon is a Caryll Rune in Bloodborne.
Description[]
In-Game Description
- A secret symbol left by Caryll, runesmith of Byrgenwerth.
- The Great One Oedon, lacking form, exists only in voice, and is symbolized by this rune. Those who memorize it enjoy a larger supply of Quicksilver Bullets.
- Human or no, the oozing blood is a medium of the highest grade, and the essence of the formless Great One, Oedon. Both Oedon, and his inadvertent worshippers, surreptitiously seek the precious blood.
Effects[]
"Formless Oedon" Rune. Increases Quicksilver Bullet carry capacity. (+1 per version)
- Formless Oedon (+1):
- Dropped by the Young Girl if sent to Iosefka's Clinic.
- Formless Oedon (+2):
- Found in Lower Pthumerian Labyrinth.
- Formless Oedon (+3):
- Dropped by the Oedon Chapel Dweller. (The player must kill him)
- Formless Oedon (+4):
- Found atop Oedon Chapel. (Accessed by finding a hole on the way up the elevator)
- Formless Oedon (+5):
- Pthumeru Ihyll Root Chalice Dungeons.
Notes[]
- If players stack the 3 best variants of the Formless Oedon rune, they will be able to carry 32 Quicksilver Bullets at a time. Extracting Blood Bullets raises this value to the maximum possible inventory by up to 37.
- This rune can be rather useful for players who enjoy making use of the Cannon/Church Cannon, or high cost Hunter Tools, like A Call Beyond.
- It is the counterpart to the Communion rune, which increases Blood Vial carry capacity.
- Communion runes are much better for Bloodtinge builds centered around the high consumption of individual Quicksilver Bullets due to the Blood Bullets (such as the use of Simon's Bowblade). If the player equips the three best Communion runes, they will be able carry 12 additional Blood Vials. If the player uses the Blood Bullet technique and replenishes their health in succession, then the player will have access to at least 60 Blood Bullets outside of the default 20 Blood Vial inventory.
Trivia[]
- It is one of the two Oedon runes, the other being Oedon Writhe. The symbols of both Oedon Runes appear to be oozing blood from within.
- It appears to depict a man with open arms, giving a speech to two other men.
- The Chapel Dweller dropping this rune is something that makes sense, but the Young Girl dropping it as well seems quite bizarre. The only explanation, or possible connection, is perhaps the proximity that the Young Girl has with the Chapel through her own father, Gascoigne, who holds the key to it.
- Unlike most other runes, which have 3 versions, this one has 5. Communion also has 5 versions.
