More specifically, when the Healing Church and the first hunters were founded, and how it relates to the Fishing Hamlet, because, frankly, when everything is taken into account, there seem to be a few contradictions.
First, the guy in the FH says that Byrgenwerth was the one to have mutilated and experimented on the inhabitants and Kos, searching their skulls for eyes, a sign of insight, which Byrgenwerth was all about. However, it's also implied the hunters had already existed by this point, which means the Healing Church, led by Laurence, had also existed, as it's due to its blood ministrations that the Scourge began and the hunters were formed, as well as the fact that the Rakuyo is there.
But the HC had given up on insight, hadn't it? They were all about the old blood, and using it to evolve humanity. And Laurence was also a part of the Fishing Hamlet event, which doesn't make sense. If it was the Healing Church, why did the guy say Byrgenwerth? If they were searching for insight, it would make sense that it was Byrgenwerth, but why was Laurence there, as well Gehrman and Maria, hunters by that point, who are implied to have followed him and not Willem?
On top of that, I'm confused about Gehrman being the first hunter. Again, it's implied that he'd followed Laurence rather than staying in Byrgenwerth (or am I wrong?). He was the first one to notice it was blood ministrations causing the Scourge (though Willem might have also known about it), an formed the first hunters. And so, did he split off from the Healing Church, and it's because of that he isn't the First Hunter of the Healing Church, instead of Ludwig? If so why was he with the HC in the Fishing Hamlet? If he did stay with Laurence, why isn't he known as the first hunter of the HC?
